Overview
Not a slim daypack, this Kelty Redwing is a large tactical backpack with aluminum stays and a nylon blend shell. A hydration bladder holder, a laptop compartment and a utility pocket are listed.
Many pockets and compartments make it easier to sort gear, and the laptop sleeve covers school or travel days. The shell is water resistant rather than waterproof, and care is by hand wash only.
Who it's for
Hiking, hunting, school and leisure uses are the ones the listing names. Anyone wanting a light pack for short trips, or a fully sealed bag, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Many pockets and compartments
- Laptop compartment included
- Hydration bladder holder
- Aluminum stays in the build
- Water resistant, not waterproof
- Hand wash only
- Hydration bladder not in the box
Performance notes
Aluminum stays give the pack frame structure under load, and the adjustable fit with shoulder straps spreads weight. A nylon blend soft shell resists some moisture, but seams and zippers are not described as sealed.
