So Phresh Extreme Clumping Grass Seed Cat Litter 10 lb

Overview

So Phresh's Extreme Clumping cat litter is made from grass seed rather than clay, sold unscented in a 10 pound bag. It ranks around 158th among cat litter sellers per the listing's sales rank data, and is marketed by Petco under the So Phresh house brand.

Grass seed litters clump using plant starches instead of bentonite clay, which typically makes for a lighter bag and less mineral dust, though this listing does not include dust or tracking figures to confirm that here. The unscented formula relies on the litter's absorbency rather than fragrance to manage odor, which suits owners who dislike scented litters masking smell instead of controlling it.

Who it's for

This fits cat owners wanting a plant based clumping litter as an alternative to clay, particularly in households sensitive to scented products. It is less suited to owners who prefer a fragranced litter or who need a very large bag size, since this comes in a 10 pound bag.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Clumping performance in grass seed litters comes from the seed's natural starch content binding around moisture, similar in principle to clay clumping but generally lighter in weight per bag. The listing labels this an extreme clumping formula, though it does not include independent data on clump firmness or how quickly it breaks down under multiple uses.
