Overview
Setting up a first real drum kit for a small child is what the Pearl Roadshow Jr. is built for. Poplar wood shells with real heads tune like adult drums, and adjustable stands hold a crash, hi-hats and the snare at a child's height.
Real wood and real heads separate it from toy kits: it tunes and responds like a scaled down full set. Its small sizes suit young players only, so expect to replace it as the drummer grows.
Who it's for
Young children starting drums who need a kit scaled to their reach. Older kids and adults should look at a full size beginner kit.
Pros and cons
- Real wood shells
- Tunable drum heads
- Cymbals and stands included
- Throne not listed
- Bass pedal not listed
- Outgrown as the child grows
Performance notes
Sound comes from poplar shells and real heads, so the drums can be tuned rather than producing a fixed toy tone. The small shell sizes and adjustable stands place every drum and cymbal within a child's reach.
