Overview
The USSC Grills USG730 is a pellet fuelled smoker built for wood fired cooking, finished in black and weighing about 164 lbs. It suits home cooks who want a dedicated smoker rather than a multi function grill.
Running on wood pellets rather than propane or charcoal, the USG730 targets low and slow cooking over convenience burners. At 164 lbs it is heavy enough to stay put in a backyard corner but not so large it needs a dedicated slab. USSC Grills sits under the United States Stove Company family, better known for pellet stoves, which explains the fuel choice here.
- Pellet fuel type
- Wood based smoking
- Black finish
- 164 lb weight
Who it's for
Fits backyard cooks who already smoke ribs, brisket or pulled pork and want a pellet unit instead of babysitting charcoal. Not the pick for anyone who wants quick weeknight grilling, since pellet smokers are built around long cook times.
Pros and cons
- Wood pellet fuel for smoke flavor without charcoal tending
- Substantial 164 lb build meant for a fixed outdoor spot
- No cooking area or burner spec provided
- Heavy unit is not built for moving between locations
Performance notes
Pellet smokers like this feed wood pellets from a hopper into a burn pot, giving more consistent temperature control than charcoal without gas taste. Results depend heavily on pellet quality and keeping the hopper topped up during long cooks.
