Overview
This XMARK set totals 115 pounds spread across 14 individual plates, built from cast iron with a rubber coating meant to protect flooring and dampen the clang when the plates are set down.
Rubber coating on cast iron plates is meant to protect floors and reduce noise, a common trade-off against uncoated iron which is cheaper but louder and more prone to chipping edges over time.
- 14-piece plate set
- 115 lb total weight
- Cast iron core with rubber coating
- Model TS0403-HL700ML-B2107
Who it's for
Fits a home gym owner assembling a barbell plate collection from scratch, since 14 pieces across 115 pounds gives a spread of smaller and larger plates for progressive loading. Not for someone who just needs one heavy pair.
Pros and cons
- Graduated 14-piece set for progressive loading
- Rubber coating protects floors and reduces noise
- 115 lb total gives a full starter collection
- No individual plate weight breakdown given
- Heavy overall set, not for light training only
Performance notes
The rubber coating absorbs some impact noise and guards flooring compared to bare iron, while the cast iron core keeps the plates dense enough to stay compact on the bar.
