Overview
A tree at the edge of a hunting spot gets a ladder stand with an extra large mesh seat and a backrest. The Hawk Big Denali uses a portable stacking ladder system, kick out footrests and an integrated weapon holder.
Hawk aims the Big Denali at hunters who sit for hours and want a wide, comfortable seat. The alloy steel frame and ladder access make setup straightforward compared with a climbing stand. The limitation is that the listing does not say what is in the box, and the weight is high for solo carrying.
Who it's for
Hunters with a fixed spot near a road or trail where the stand can be carried in with help. Those who move stands often, or want a climbing stand, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Extra large mesh seat
- Backrest for long hours aloft
- Integrated weapon holder
- Kick out footrests
- Heavy stand to carry
- Box contents not clearly listed
- Platform size not given
Performance notes
A ladder stand leans on the tree and is climbed by steps, so stability depends on how well the stacked sections are secured and how the stand is set. A wider seat and backrest reduce fatigue over long hours. The load rating sets the combined weight of hunter and gear the stand is designed for.
