Overview
The Delta Children Essex is a 4-in-1 convertible crib with angled pine legs in a natural finish, converting from a standard crib into a toddler bed, daybed, and sofa as a child grows.
The Essex pairs a white body with natural-finish angled legs, a two-tone look distinct from an all-white or all-wood crib. The daybed and sofa rail come with the crib; the toddler guardrail is a separate purchase, and Delta Children sells a matching under-crib storage drawer for parents who want extra room underneath.
- 4-in-1: crib, toddler bed, daybed, sofa
- 3-position adjustable mattress support
- Solid pine legs with a natural finish
- JPMA certified to ASTM safety standards
Who it's for
Works for parents who like a two-tone nursery look and want a crib that carries into the toddler years without a new frame. Not the pick for anyone who wants a single solid-wood color or the toddler rail included up front.
Pros and cons
- Two-tone white body with natural pine legs
- Converts to toddler bed, daybed, and sofa
- Matching under-crib storage drawer available
- Uses a standard, widely available crib mattress
- Toddler guardrail sold separately
Performance notes
The mattress support adjusts across three positions, lowering as the baby starts sitting and standing. It takes a standard crib mattress, with Delta Children, Serta, or Beautyrest listed as close-fit options, and an optional roll-out storage drawer slides underneath for extra nursery storage without a separate piece of furniture.
