Overview
A lacquer-coated birch butcher block playfield forms the heart of this Hathaway Merlot, backed by thick side and end aprons and double-paneled legs. Three climate adjusters and leg levelers let owners tune the surface.
Carpet-lined sidewalls and padded gutters cut noise and protect pucks, which suits a family rec room. The limits are the weight and the fact that the listing mixes hardwood and veneer wording.
Who it's for
Families and casual players who want a built-in scorer, a cabinet and everything needed to play. Renters, small basements and anyone who will move the table often should consider something lighter.
Pros and cons
- Lacquer-coated butcher block playfield
- Three climate adjusters
- Padded gutters and carpeted sidewalls
- Full accessory set included
- Heavy to move
- Material wording mixes hardwood and veneer
- Short warranty period
Performance notes
Layers of lacquer give a glossy surface for fast puck glide, and the climate adjusters let the playfield be tuned for temperature and humidity. Thick aprons and paneled legs reduce wobble, while the padded gutters cut noise.
