Overview
A cushioned cork core with standard windings and Core Bond adhesive forms the center of each Rawlings practice ball, wrapped in full grain leather with raised seams. The balls ship in a bucket with a carry handle and a padded lid.
Two dozen leather practice balls plus a bucket to carry and sit on makes practice setup simple for a coach. The listing does not show a game approval stamp, so these are for practice.
Who it's for
Coaches running high school practices and batting sessions will find the bucket useful for storage and transport. Teams needing approved game balls should buy a stamped game model.
Pros and cons
- Leather covers hold up in practice
- Raised seams aid grip
- Bucket with handle and padded lid
- Two dozen balls in one buy
- Ball size not listed
- No game approval stamp listed
- Cushioned core plays softer than game balls
Performance notes
Grip comes from the raised seams, which give pitchers more feel. The cushioned cork core and standard windings make the ball softer off the bat than a full game ball. The Core Bond adhesive holds the core and windings together under repeated hits.
