Overview
A 3-pack of NSF-certified replacement refrigerator water filters built to fit LG's LT1000P family and several Kenmore cross-reference models, reducing chlorine taste and odor from tap water.
- 3-pack, roughly a 6-month supply at LG's replacement interval
- Fits LT1000P, LT1000PC, LT1000PCS, LT-1000PC
- Also lists Kenmore 46-9980 and 469980 cross-reference
- Lead-free filter material
Who it's for
Suits LG LT1000P/PC/PCS owners and listed Kenmore models looking to cut filter costs versus OEM pricing. Not for anyone who has had inconsistent luck with third-party filters before, or whose model number is not explicitly on this list.
Pros and cons
- Costs a fraction of the OEM LG filter
- NSF 42/372 certified for chlorine and odor
- Coconut shell carbon filter core
- No alignment arrows, first install can be fiddly
- At least one reported seal or pressure mismatch
Performance notes
The filter uses a coconut shell carbon core, which is what actually pulls chlorine taste and odor out of the water rather than any electronic component. NSF 42 and 372 certification confirms the material claims, chlorine and taste and odor reduction, lead-free construction, were tested against a standard rather than just asserted. Fit quality against the fridge's filter housing determines whether the seal holds under water pressure, which is where a few owners ran into trouble.
