A straightforward over-the-range microwave for kitchens with an existing opening above the cooktop. The listing gives no ventilation figures, so anyone relying on it as a range hood should confirm airflow first.

Overview
Not a countertop model, this Samsung microwave is built to install over the range, freeing counter space above the cooktop. A keypad drives auto cook presets, defrost and power settings, and a bright ice-blue display makes the settings easy to read.
Freeing the counter while adding auto cook presets and an Eco Mode makes it a sensible replacement for an existing over-the-range opening. Ventilation details such as fan speed and airflow are absent, which matters for anyone counting on it to clear cooking smoke.
Who it's for
Remodels and replacements over an existing range get a stainless unit that frees counter space. Renters without permission to mount appliances, or cooks who need ventilation figures before buying, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Over-the-range design frees counter space
- Auto defrost and preset cook programs
- Eco Mode to cut energy use
- Bright ice-blue display for easy reading
- Vent fan airflow not listed
- Heavy to lift into place during install
- Only one year on parts and labor
- Interior listed as enamel or stainless, unclear
Performance notes
Cooking speed is set by the magnetron output and the chosen power level, with lower levels cycling the energy for gentle reheating and defrosting. The turntable rotates food through the microwave field so heating evens out, so wide dishes must clear the cavity walls to spin. Auto programs set time and power for common foods, so results depend on matching the program to the dish.
