Overview
Not a cordless unit, this handheld scanner plugs into a computer or POS terminal by USB and reads two dimensional and linear codes automatically. A long cable gives reach at a counter or in a storeroom.
Wired power and data mean no pairing or charging. Reading matrix codes covers mobile payments and coupons. The listing also mentions a nonstandard battery, which is odd for a wired scanner, and does not list box contents.
Who it's for
Cashiers, stock clerks and warehouse staff feeding a desktop, laptop or POS will plug it in and scan. Mobile payment codes are covered. Roaming staff or tablet-only setups should look at a wireless model.
Pros and cons
- Reads QR, PDF417 and Data Matrix
- Long USB cable
- No pairing needed
- Desktop, laptop and POS compatible
- Box contents not listed
- Battery mention is unclear
Performance notes
An imager captures the whole code and the host receives the data over USB, so there is no wireless drop. Cable length sets the working radius around the terminal. Reading depends on the code being within the sensor's view.
