Overview
A library assistant or stock-room worker can clip this mini scanner to a pocket and read barcodes and QR codes without a cable. It connects by Bluetooth, a second wireless mode or a USB cable, and a rechargeable battery with a level indicator tracks charge.
The wide connection list suits mixed setups: a phone, a tablet and a desktop can all take input. The limitation is detail, since read distance, scan rate and supported code types are not spelled out.
Who it's for
Inventory counts and book checkouts reward a light unit that follows the worker around. A counter that scans all day or needs a mounting stand is better served by a larger scanner.
Pros and cons
- Three connection modes, wireless and wired
- Battery level indicator included
- Clip for pocket or belt carry
- Compact and light body
- Scan rate not listed
- Supported code types not detailed
- Battery is nonstandard, not user swappable listed
Performance notes
Scanning is done by an optical reader that turns the printed pattern into keystrokes sent over the chosen link. Pairing mode decides range and lag: Bluetooth suits phones, the 2.4G link suits a nearby computer, and the cable removes battery use altogether.
