Overview
Clipping onto a monitor or laptop, the Adesso webcam adds standard HD video and a built-in microphone for calls on Zoom, Skype, Teams and Webex. A programmable driver lets you tweak brightness, contrast and saturation.
A simple way to put a desktop on video calls without a headset. Detail is modest and focus must be set by hand, which matters if you move closer or farther from the screen.
Who it's for
Home desktops and office PCs that just need to appear on calls get a plain, workable setup. People recording content or sharing fine detail on camera should step up to a higher resolution model.
Pros and cons
- Plug in over USB
- Works with Windows and Mac
- Adjustable image settings via driver
- Wide angle lens
- Standard HD only
- Sensor figure differs in description
- No privacy cover listed
Performance notes
Image sharpness depends on setting the manual focus once for your seating distance. The small sensor needs decent room light, and the driver controls for brightness and exposure help in dim rooms. The wide lens shows more of the background than a narrow face shot.
