Overview
Zesty Paws Salmon Oil chews package omega-3 fish oil into a bacon-flavored soft chew, sold 90 to a bag, aimed at supporting a dog's skin, coat, and itch relief.
Rather than a liquid oil poured over food, this is a chewable format, trading some dosing flexibility for convenience and a flavor dogs are more likely to take without a fuss. Vitamin E is listed as the active ingredient alongside the fish oil.
- 90 chews per bag
- Bacon flavor
- Omega-3 fish oil plus vitamin E
- Aimed at skin, coat, and itch relief
Who it's for
Fits owners of dogs with dry skin, a dull coat, or occasional itchiness who want a fish-oil supplement in chew form rather than a liquid pump. Dogs on a strict low-fat or novel-protein diet may need a vet's input given the fish and bacon flavor base.
Pros and cons
- Bacon flavor for easier acceptance than liquid oil
- 90 chews per bag
- Vitamin E included alongside the fish oil
- Fixed per-chew dosing, less flexible than liquid oil
Performance notes
Omega-3s from fish oil are generally used to support skin barrier function and coat condition, which lines up with the itch-relief and allergy-relief use case on the label. The chew format sets the dose per piece rather than by weight, so larger dogs may need more than one chew to reach a comparable dose to a liquid product.
