Overview
Hunters and golfers get a pocket-sized laser rangefinder that reads distance through a magnified eyepiece. Aim at the target, fire the laser, and the unit times the reflection to show how far away it is.
Long reach in a light, waterproof body is the case for the Midas, backed by a lifetime warranty. The listing stops at basics: nothing on angle compensation, flag lock, scan mode or display type. Shooters who need slope-adjusted distances should confirm those features before buying.
Who it's for
Suited to hunting stands, open fields and golf courses where a quick straight-line reading guides the shot. Shooters who rely on slope-corrected ranges should wait for a model that documents that feature.
Pros and cons
- Long maximum range
- Compact and light body
- Waterproof rating listed
- Carrying case included
- Angle compensation not listed
- Few documented features beyond range
Performance notes
Readings depend on how much laser light returns from the target, so large or reflective objects read at long distances while small, dark or angled targets cut the usable range. Magnification helps hold the aim on a distant target, and fog or rain scatter the beam.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Athlon Midas 1 Mile compensate for angles?
The listing does not mention angle compensation or a slope mode. It gives a measuring range and magnification only, so treat readings as straight-line distance.
Is the Athlon Midas a hunting or golf rangefinder?
The specs list golf as the sport, and it is sold under hunting rangefinders. Nothing in the listing names flag lock or game-specific modes.
