A comfortable cutaway acoustic electric for players moving between fingerpicking and strumming on small stages. Laminated wood gives sturdiness over the bloom of an all wood top.

Overview
A coffee shop stage or living room session suits this D'Angelico Grand Auditorium, with a deep single cutaway for upper fret access. Scalloped top bracing gives an airy tone, and a preamp with an LED tuner handles amplified sets.
Easy upper fret reach and a slim neck make it a comfortable all rounder for fingerstyle and strumming. Laminated mahogany is durable but less resonant than an all wood build.
Who it's for
Players from hobbyists to gigging musicians who move up the neck and play plugged in. Those after the richest unplugged resonance should look at an all wood guitar.
Pros and cons
- Deep cutaway for upper frets
- Slim, satin finished neck
- Scalloped bracing for an airy tone
- Onboard EQ and LED tuner
- Laminated top, less resonance
- Case not listed
- Listed weight looks wrong
Performance notes
Resonance comes from scalloped bracing that lets the top vibrate freely, while the laminated mahogany holds the response steady. The cutaway opens the upper frets, and the preamp shapes the plugged in tone.
