Overview
The Sharp SA101 is a single chisel measuring 7 inches long by 2.25 inches wide by 1 inch high and weighing about 2 pounds.
At 2 pounds, this chisel is on the heavier side for a hand tool of its size, usually a sign of a thicker blade or a metal handle rather than a light wood chisel. Sold as a single piece rather than a set, it reads as a standalone tool for a specific cutting or scraping task rather than general woodworking joinery.
- 7 inch length, 2.25 inch width
- About 2 pounds
- Sold as a single chisel
Who it's for
Users needing one sturdy chisel for a specific task, such as scraping, chipping, or shaping, match this listing's single piece format and above average weight. Woodworkers wanting a full graduated set of chisel widths would need to buy additional pieces separately.
Pros and cons
- 2 pound weight suits heavier chisel work
- Sold as a single piece, not a set
- Blade steel type not specified
- No description text available to confirm edge grind
Performance notes
At 2 pounds for a 7 inch tool, the SA101 carries noticeably more heft than a typical light wood chisel of similar length, which generally means it can absorb harder mallet strikes without flexing. The 2.25 inch width suggests it is built for broader material removal rather than fine detail paring.
