Overview
The Frigidaire FFUE2022AW is a 33 inch upright freezer with 20 cu ft of capacity, an auto-close door and Energy Star certification. It includes power outage assurance and an EvenTemp cooling system aimed at keeping temperature stable across the cabinet.
The auto-close door is meant to prevent the common upright-freezer problem of a door left ajar warming the whole unit, which pairs with the power outage assurance feature to hold temperature during a brief power loss. At a 2.9 average rating from a small sample, buyer experiences here are mixed enough that shipping condition and delivery handling seem to matter as much as the appliance itself.
- 20 cu ft capacity in a 33 inch wide cabinet
- Auto-close doors and power outage assurance
- EvenTemp cooling system
- Energy Star certified
Who it's for
Suits anyone needing standalone upright freezer space in a garage or utility area for bulk or overflow food storage. Buyers who have had trouble with damaged appliance deliveries in the past may want to inspect closely on arrival or buy from a source with an easy return path.
Pros and cons
- 20 cu ft of upright freezer capacity
- Auto-close doors prevent accidental warming
- Energy Star certified
- Good shelf arrangement for organizing food
- At least one unit arrived with dented door panels
- Reported difficulty getting a response on shipping damage claims
- Average rating on file is low relative to typical Frigidaire freezers
Performance notes
The EvenTemp cooling system is designed to distribute cold air more uniformly through the cabinet than a single-source cooling point would, which matters most for items stored on lower or side shelves that tend to run warmer in basic upright freezers. Power outage assurance is meant to slow temperature rise during a short outage, though it does not replace a generator for extended power loss.
