More from this brandAll Leupold rifle scopesOverview
The Leupold VX-3HD 6.5-20x40mm (model 182502) is a matte-finish rifle scope with a Fine Duplex reticle, an EFR CDS-T custom dial system, and a front parallax focus ring that one reviewer adjusted down to 25 yards.
The CDS-T custom dial is built around a specific load, letting a shooter dial for distance instead of holding over, which is the draw for anyone who already knows their ballistics. One buyer did receive a scope that looked used with a malfunctioning parallax adjustment and returned it to Leupold for repair.
- EFR CDS-T custom dial system
- Fine Duplex reticle
- Leupold Elite Optical System
- Made, machined, and assembled in the USA
Who it's for
Fits a hunter or shooter who wants a dial-your-distance CDS-T scope with Leupold's optical clarity for general hunting or plinking. Less suited to someone unwilling to deal with an occasional quality-control miss, given one buyer's report of a used-looking unit.
Pros and cons
- Bright, consistent glass across repeat purchases
- CDS-T dial removes holdover guesswork at known distances
- Parallax adjusts down to 25 yards, per one reviewer
- One buyer received a scope that looked used with a broken parallax adjustment
