Overview
Retrospec makes the Apollo-Lite as a front bike basket that hooks onto the handlebars and lifts off with a built-in carrying handle. The weatherproof steel body is described as light and durable, and it suits most standard bikes and e-bikes.
The reason to buy is quick on and off use: hooks hold it in place, and the handle lets you bring belongings along when you leave the bike. The limitation is the small load rating.
Who it's for
A rider doing short commutes, light shopping or beach trips who wants a basket that comes off with the handle. Anyone needing a bigger basket or heavy loads should look at a larger rack or basket.
Pros and cons
- Hooks for easy mounting
- Built-in carrying handle
- Weatherproof steel body
- Light, compact steel body
- Light load limit
- Title and spec sizes differ
Performance notes
Integrated hooks secure it to the handlebars, and the load rating sets how much it can carry before the bar or the basket is strained. The steel body resists weather, and the handle shifts the load to your hand once it is off the bike.
