Roland TD-27KV2 V-Drums Electronic Drum Kit

Overview

Drummers who record and rehearse get a Roland kit whose digital snare, hi-hat and ride sense where and how hard they are struck. The Roland module adds modeled ambience, layered sounds and a multichannel USB audio connection.

Positional sensing on the key pads captures ghost notes and cymbal swells that simpler kits miss. Size and weight make it a fixed setup, and pedal and throne are extra.

Who it's for

Serious players recording at home or practicing quietly with real dynamics. New drummers may not need this level of sensing.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Multi-sensor pads track strike position and force, so dynamics and tone shift like acoustic drums. Recording quality depends on the module's sounds, and multichannel USB lets each drum be mixed separately.
