Overview
Not a handheld wand or a full shower system, Delta's round chrome head mounts on the wall and switches between full body, massage and shampoo rinse sprays. A pause mode drops the water to a trickle while you lather.
Spray variety in a compact head is the reason to buy, with massage and rinse modes plus a pause for lathering. The body is plastic under a chrome finish, and the listing never settles whether there are five or six settings.
Who it's for
Renters and homeowners updating a standard shower get massage, rinse and pause modes in one head. People bathing kids or pets with a hose-style wand should choose a handheld model.
Pros and cons
- Pause mode saves water while lathering
- Massage and shampoo rinse spray modes
- Touch-Clean nozzles wipe off lime
- Finish tested beyond industry corrosion standards
- Plastic body, not metal
- Setting count conflicts between title and specs
- Shower arm and tape not listed
- Fixed head, no handheld option
Performance notes
Spray force depends on the capped flow rate and your home water pressure, with the face concentrating water into the selected pattern. Touch-Clean nozzles let you rub off mineral build-up that would otherwise narrow the jets. The pause setting throttles flow rather than shutting it off.

The listing names only the shower head. No shower arm, flange or thread tape is listed, so plan to reuse your existing arm.
Is the Delta 52535 a handheld shower head?
No. It is a wall-mounted fixed head, and no hose or handheld wand is listed.
Will the chrome finish on the Delta 52535 peel?
Delta says its finishes are third-party certified and tested against cracking, peeling, chipping, blistering and color change, with corrosion resistance tested to at least 2 times industry standards.
