Overview
The Z Grills ZPG-7002B is a larger pellet smoker in the same line as the 550B2, offering 697 square inches of cooking area in an alloy steel, black-finished body weighing 135 pounds.
Nearly double the weight of the smaller ZPG-550B2, this model trades portability for capacity, aimed at cooking multiple large cuts or feeding a crowd in one session. The auger-fed pellet system is the same underlying approach, just scaled up.
- 697 sq in cooking area
- Pellet fuel system
- Alloy steel body
- Black finish, 135 lb
Who it's for
Cooks who regularly smoke for groups or need room for several racks of ribs or more than one brisket at once. Not the right pick for anyone with limited patio space or who cooks for just one or two people.
Pros and cons
- 697 sq in cooking area suits large-batch smoking
- Alloy steel construction for outdoor use
- Pellet feed automates fuel dosing
- 135 lb weight limits placement flexibility
- Larger footprint than smaller Z Grills models
Performance notes
The larger grate area and heavier alloy steel build add thermal mass that helps stabilize temperature during long smokes, though it also takes longer to preheat than the smaller ZPG-550B2.
