Overview
Not a light decorative throw, the Nuzzie Chunky Knit is a weighted blanket made from thick hand-knit polyester loops with polyester fill. The open chunky weave is meant to let air pass while the mass rests across the body.
Weighted pressure in a breathable open knit is the reason to choose it, and the care label allows a regular machine wash. Its heft is also the downside: lifting it into a washer or carrying it between rooms takes effort, and it is not water resistant.
Who it's for
Couch naps and reading sessions are where this heavy knit belongs, draped over one adult. Households wanting a blanket for children, or a throw that moves easily from room to room, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Open chunky weave lets air through
- Machine washable per care label
- Hypoallergenic polyester listed
- Rated for use in all seasons
- Heavy to lift into a washer
- Not water resistant
- Polyester only, no natural fibers
- Labeled for adults only
Performance notes
Pressure comes from the blanket mass resting over the body, so the full weight bears down wherever it lies. The open chunky loops leave gaps for air, which governs how much heat it traps. Washing depends on whether the home machine can handle a load this heavy.
