Overview
Swinging the Axe bat starts with its patented flared handle, shaped like an axe grip so the hands line up for more speed and control. A heat treated one piece alloy barrel with a thin sweet spot and a carbon composite end cap trims weight at the tip.
The axe shaped handle is the reason to choose it, since it changes how the hands sit on the bat and how the barrel comes through the zone. Players used to a round knob need practice time before taking it into a game.
Who it's for
High school and college players needing a BBCOR bat who like a balanced alloy feel will be at home with it. Younger players in USSSA or USA Baseball leagues need a bat certified for those leagues.
Pros and cons
- BBCOR certified for high school and college
- Axe handle aids speed and control
- Heat treated alloy resists denting
- Composite end cap trims tip weight
- Only a one year warranty
- Handle shape needs an adjustment period
- One piece alloy can sting on mishits
- Only one length and weight listed
Performance notes
Swing speed comes from the balanced weight spread and the carbon end cap that removes mass at the tip. The CNC tuned variable wall barrel flexes at contact without denting, which sets how lively the sweet spot feels. A one piece alloy bat transmits more vibration to the hands on off center hits.
