Cable Matters Right Angle DisplayPort 1.4 Cable 10 ft

Overview

This Cable Matters cable, model 102046-BLK-10, is a 10 foot DisplayPort cable finished in black. It is built to carry video from a DisplayPort source, such as a graphics card, to a DisplayPort-equipped monitor or TV.

At 10 feet, this cable is long enough to reach a wall-mounted display or bridge a desk to a nearby receiver, longer than the short cables typically bundled with monitors. It is DisplayPort on both ends, so it is meant for DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort runs rather than mixed-connector setups.

• 10 foot cable length
• DisplayPort connector on both ends

Who it's for

Connecting a DisplayPort graphics card or laptop output to a DisplayPort monitor or TV across a longer distance than a stock cable allows is exactly what this suits. A device that only has HDMI is not a match, since no adapter or HDMI end is included.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

DisplayPort cables carry video and audio digitally between two DisplayPort connectors, so the 10 foot length is the main practical factor here, letting the source and display sit farther apart than a typical 3 to 6 foot cable allows. Signal quality at this length depends on the DisplayPort version supported by the connected devices rather than the cable alone.
