Overview
Players who want a guitar that travels yet sounds full get the GS Mini-e Special Edition, a short-scale Taylor with a torrefied spruce top and sapele body. A built-in preamp and a structured gig bag make it ready for the road.
The short scale and Standard Carve neck make it easy to play for small and large hands alike. Bass response is lighter than a full dreadnought, which matters for strummers who want boom.
Who it's for
Couch players, travelers and students wanting quality in a smaller package. Those wanting the volume of a big body should choose a full-size model.
Pros and cons
- Short scale is easy to play
- Torrefied spruce top
- Structured gig bag
- Less bass than full size
- Warranty not listed here
- Listed weight seems high
Performance notes
Torrefying the spruce ages it for a more open response, while the short scale lowers string tension for easier bends. The preamp sets plugged-in clarity, and the small body limits low-end volume.
