Overview
Not a full-size dreadnought, the GS Mini-e Special Edition is a compact short-scale Taylor wearing a Victorian Burst top. Torrefied spruce over sapele gives a balanced voice, and the ES-B preamp lets it plug straight into an amp.
Easy playability and a portable size make it a frequent grab for practice and travel. The compact body cannot match a big guitar for volume or bass.
Who it's for
Songwriters, students and travelers who play daily and plug in occasionally. Those seeking big unplugged projection should look at full-size models.
Pros and cons
- Compact and comfortable
- Gig bag included
- Less volume than full size
- Spec lists top as satin
- Listed weight seems high
Performance notes
Shorter scale means lower string tension, so chords and bends take less effort. Torrefied spruce responds quickly, and the pickup system governs tone when amplified.
