Overview
A very low compression core lets the TaylorMade SpeedSoft squash fully even on gentle swings, while an ionomer cover handles scuffs. The bright pink finish makes it easy to follow and find.
Easy compression is what slower swinging golfers gain, since a soft core helps them get the ball moving. The ionomer cover means less greenside grab than a softer urethane ball.
Who it's for
Juniors, seniors and newer golfers with relaxed swing speeds match the low compression. Strong hitters will find the core too soft for control.
Pros and cons
- Very low compression
- Durable ionomer cover
- Bright pink is easy to find
- Full dozen in the pack
- Construction listed only as plastic
- Lower wedge spin from ionomer
- Dimple design not listed
Performance notes
Distance at slow swing speeds depends on how fully the core compresses, and a very low compression rating lets gentle swings load it. The ionomer cover resists cuts but slides more on wedge faces, so short shots release further.
