Overview
Tracking a drive against a bright sky is the job the Volvik Vimat is built around, with a glare free matte yellow finish over an ionomer cover. A soft, high energy core aims to pair a gentle feel with quick ball speed.
Visibility is the headline here, since the matte color cuts glare and stands out in rough and on the fairway. The ionomer cover favors durability over greenside bite, so players who rely on spinning wedges will notice the difference.
Who it's for
Recreational players with moderate swing speeds who value seeing every shot land will like the bright matte cover. Better players chasing tour level wedge control should look at a urethane cover.
Pros and cons
- Matte color cuts glare for tracking
- Durable ionomer cover
- Lower compression for a softer feel
- Full dozen in the box
- Ionomer limits greenside spin
- Short warranty window
- One color on this listing
Performance notes
Feel and launch come from the lower compression core, which compresses more readily at moderate swing speeds. The dimple layout governs flight stability. The ionomer cover resists scuffs but grips wedge grooves less than a softer urethane cover would.
