Overview
An 8 inch inflatable mini ball from Gaiam made of anti-burst PVC, rated to 300 lbs, used to add core activation and stability to Pilates, yoga and physical therapy sessions. Ships with an inflation straw, plug and a downloadable exercise guide.
This is a small accessory ball, not a seated stability ball, and its job is placement under a foot, hand or lower back to add an unstable surface to a stretch or crunch. The slightly tacky PVC surface that gives it grip is also flagged by one owner as a risk to finished furniture if the ball is set down on it.
- 8 inch anti-burst PVC ball
- 300 lb weight support
- Includes straw, plug and exercise guide
- Textured non-slip surface
Who it's for
Fits anyone doing home Pilates or yoga who wants a small prop for core activation, stretching or physical therapy exercises. Less suited to anyone who wants to set the ball on wood furniture between uses, given the grip coating.
Pros and cons
- Holds air well without needing mid-workout re-inflation
- Tacky surface grips the floor during exercises
- Comes with a straw, plug and downloadable exercise guide
- Compact size works for a range of Pilates and yoga moves
- Tacky surface can damage finished wood furniture if set down on it
- Some units arrive dented or lumpy from shipping
- Considered pricier than similar unbranded balls by at least one reviewer
Performance notes
It arrives wrinkled and needs time to smooth out after inflation.
