Overview
A shredded-blend dry kitten food from Purina Pro Plan in chicken and rice, sold as a 6-pound bag per the listing title. Formulated around DHA, live probiotics and vitamin A with taurine for growth-stage nutrition.
The shredded texture mixes crunchy kibble pieces with softer shredded bits, a format Purina uses to ease kittens off wet food. Beyond the base chicken and rice recipe, the formula calls out three specific additions: DHA for brain development, live probiotics for digestion, and vitamin A with taurine for vision, each aimed at a different part of early growth.
- Chicken and rice recipe
- Shredded blend kibble texture
- DHA, probiotics and taurine included
- 6 lb bag sized for kitten growth stage
Who it's for
Suited to owners feeding a kitten through its growth stage who want a mainstream, vet-recommended brand rather than a boutique formula. Not intended for adult cats, since it is built specifically around kitten growth and development.
Pros and cons
- Growth-focused formula with DHA and taurine
- Live probiotics for digestion
- Allergen-free ingredient claim
- Kitten-specific, not usable once a cat reaches adulthood
- Chicken and rice only, no flavor variety in this listing
Performance notes
The shredded blend texture eases the transition from wet to dry food by mixing softer pieces with standard kibble, while the DHA and taurine additions target the two areas kitten formulas are most often built around, brain and eye development during rapid early growth.
