Overview
Filling a living room with surround sound from one bar is the job of this Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar, which uses spatial sound mapping to place audio around the room. It handles Dolby Atmos and DTS, passes video through HDMI and can grow with added components.
Choose it for immersive movie and game audio from a single bar that can expand into a fuller system. Add-on speakers are not included, and the protection plan terms vary between the title and the bullets.
Who it's for
Movie and game fans with a large TV get wide, room filling sound and a path to add speakers later. Owners of small screens or tight shelves should choose a shorter bar.
Pros and cons
- Wide multi channel Atmos sound
- Spatial sound mapping
- HDMI eARC passthrough
- Night and voice modes
- Add-on speakers sold separately
- Protection plan terms vary
Performance notes
Surround comes from spatial sound mapping and room optimization, which place sound around the listener, while Dolby Atmos and DTS decoding handle movie mixes. Voice mode lifts dialogue, and night mode tames peaks for late viewing.
