Overview
A patio owner who wants shade that disappears when it is not needed gets this Awntech Destin, whose acrylic canopy rolls back under a protective aluminum hood. A motor on the right side extends it, and the canopy is a gunmetal and gray pattern.
Reason to buy: the hood protects the fabric between uses, and a motor does the extending. Limitation: the listing does not mention a remote, wind sensor or the power connection, and says nothing about installation.
Who it's for
Homeowners with a sturdy wall and room for the projection who want motor-driven shade will like the covered canopy. Renters, or anyone unsure of their wall or power access, should confirm details with the seller first.
Pros and cons
- Protective aluminum hood
- UV80+ tested acrylic fabric
- Retracts out of the way
- Large coverage area
- Remote not mentioned
- Wind rating not stated
- Power connection unstated
- Heavy unit needs a strong wall
Performance notes
The motor drives the canopy out and back, and the hood shields the rolled fabric from weather between uses. Acrylic fabric tested for UV gives shade and sun protection, while wind resistance depends on the frame and wall fixings.
