Overview
The CAP SDN4BPIS-40 is a neoprene coated dumbbell set sold as a pair, with a combined item weight of 40 pounds as listed on Amazon, finished in black.
CAP's model naming and the pieces count of 2 point to this being sold as a matched pair rather than a single dumbbell, though the listing does not separately confirm the weight of each individual piece, so buyers should verify per hand weight on the current listing before ordering. Neoprene coating protects floors and is easier on the hands than bare iron or chrome.
- Model: SDN4BPIS-40
- Coating: neoprene
- Pieces: 2 (pair)
- Total item weight listed: 40 lbs
Who it's for
Home gym users building out a dumbbell rack in the higher weight range will find this useful, provided they confirm the per hand weight first. It is not the choice for beginners wanting light dumbbells, given the 40 pound total figure.
Pros and cons
- Neoprene coating protects floors and hands
- Sold as a matched pair
- Per hand weight not separately confirmed
- Neoprene coating can wear with heavy daily use
Performance notes
Neoprene coated dumbbells resist chipping and are quieter when set down compared to bare metal, which matters for home gym floors. The listed 40 pound item weight applies to the two piece set as a whole, so total resistance per hand depends on how that figure splits, a detail not confirmed in this data.
