Overview
A desk with room for a wide screen gets an immersive ultrawide gaming monitor with a fast Rapid VA panel. The MSI MPG adds an adjustable stand and VESA DisplayHDR certification.
The ultrawide aspect ratio shows more of racing, flight and RPG worlds, and the refresh rate stays high for action. VA panels give deeper blacks than IPS. Some games letterbox ultrawide, and HDR here is entry level.
Who it's for
Sim racers, flight fans and multitaskers who want more horizontal space will enjoy it. Color critical creators and ultra HD seekers should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Immersive ultrawide view
- High refresh rate
- USB Type-C connection
- Entry level HDR
- Not ultra HD resolution
- Large footprint on desks
Performance notes
VA panels deliver deeper blacks than IPS but can show some smearing in dark fast scenes. Ultrawide resolution demands more GPU power than standard QHD. Games that do not support the aspect ratio show black bars.
