Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2 Smart AI Glasses

Overview

Meta's second-generation Ray-Ban smart glasses in the classic Wayfarer frame, matte black with clear lenses. They pair a 12MP camera, open-ear speakers and Meta AI in a frame you can wear indoors or out, aimed at anyone who wants hands-free capture without a headset.

This is the everyday-wear model, not sunglasses, so the clear lenses suit office or indoor use as easily as a walk outside. Live translation across six languages and Meta AI answers run through a phone connection, so the glasses work as a companion device rather than a standalone gadget. Battery is rated for moderate use across a working day, with the case adding several more charges on the go.

• 12MP camera records up to 3K video
• Up to 8 hours battery, 48 hours from the case
• Live translation across six languages, no wifi needed
• 90% of wind and street noise blocked on calls

Who it's for

Suits people already comfortable in the Meta and Instagram ecosystem who want quick point-of-view photos and video without pulling out a phone, plus hands-free calls and music. Less suited to anyone wanting a display in the lens, or to households without a compatible paired phone nearby.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The 12MP camera records up to 3K video in clips as long as 3 minutes, with open-ear speakers handling audio playback and calls without sealing the ear canal. Live translation works offline for six language pairs once set up, while broader Meta AI questions need an active Bluetooth link and phone data. Rated battery life is up to 8 hours of moderate use, roughly double the prior generation, with the case adding up to 48 hours of top-ups away from an outlet.
