Overview
Printing, scanning, copying and faxing in color all run from one desktop laser here, with a touchscreen and wireless setup for a small office. A single-pass automatic feeder scans both sides of a page together, and duplex printing saves paper.
Canon combines quick color laser output with a duplex feeder and a long warranty, which suits a home office that handles paperwork daily. Paper capacity tops out at a single cassette, and the title and bullets disagree on print speed.
Who it's for
Hybrid workers and small offices printing color documents and scanning two-sided pages get a full office machine on one desk. Busy teams printing long runs may find the single cassette needs frequent refills.
Pros and cons
- Color print, scan, copy and fax
- One-pass two-sided scanning
- Automatic duplex printing
- Works with AirPrint and Mopria
- Single cassette limits paper capacity
- Print speed differs between title and bullets
- Ethernet not listed
Performance notes
Speed and sharpness come from the laser engine fusing toner at the listed resolution, with the first page out quickly after a job is sent. The one-pass feeder reads both sides at once, so duplex scans take one trip. High-capacity toner lowers how often cartridges are changed.
