Overview
The DNT Optics Hydra-LRF (model HS650R) is a multi-function thermal imaging device that works as a standalone rifle scope, a clip-on add-on to a day scope, or a handheld monocular, built around a 640x512 sensor with a built-in laser rangefinder and ballistic calculator.
DNT pairs a 12 micron, 18 mK sensor with a 50mm objective lens and an image processing algorithm the brand says approaches 960-equivalent clarity at 10x digital zoom. The laser rangefinder measures 5 to 1,300 yards and feeds directly into the onboard ballistic calculator, with profiles adjustable on the device or through the DNT app. Switching between scope, clip-on and monocular modes requires the QDM150 mount, which is sold separately.
