Overview
Home theater builders get a matched left, center and right set of slim black Focal on-wall speakers plus a pair of stands. Each cabinet holds four Flax midbass drivers and a tweeter for full-range dialog and effects.
Three identical speakers give a seamless front stage where voices pan smoothly across the screen. Stands give the left and right channels placement freedom. The center needs wall mounting, and a multichannel receiver is required.
Who it's for
Surround systems built around a big screen and an AV receiver suit the matched trio. Music-only stereo listeners would buy a pair.
Pros and cons
- Matched front stage tonality
- Four midbass drivers per cabinet
- Stands for left and right
- Slim black cabinets
- Stands cover only two speakers
- Needs an AV receiver
- Heavy bundle to ship
Performance notes
Identical cabinets across the front keep tone consistent as sound moves across the screen. High sensitivity lets a receiver drive all three easily. Center placement right above or below the TV anchors dialog.
