Overview
Not a beginner practice kit, this mid-level Roland set pairs digital snare, ride and hi-hat pads with a module whose library was recorded with Drum Workshop. A larger footprint and upgraded pads aim at nuanced live and studio playing.
Dynamic control from digital pads is why to choose it, giving detailed response for recording. Beyond the cloud membership, the listing does not list included pieces like pedals, stands or a throne.
Who it's for
Intermediate and advanced drummers tracking performances or playing live with in-ear mixes will use its detail. Beginners and very small rooms suit a compact entry kit better.
Pros and cons
- Digital pads for detailed response
- Higher grade sound module
- Wireless sound downloads
- Large color display
- Included parts not listed
- Heavy at full setup
- Pedals and throne not mentioned
Performance notes
Digital pads report strike position and force in fine detail, so ghost notes and accents translate cleanly. The module's multi-sampled library changes tone with dynamics. Editing tools tune and muffle each drum to fit a mix.
