Overview
Storing a big game library and stream footage on one external drive is the job here, with this Seagate FireCuda drive powered and connected through a single USB-C cable. Customizable RGB lighting syncs with Windows Dynamic Lighting.
Large capacity, data recovery coverage and a matching gaming look make it a natural archive for PC gamers and streamers. It is a spinning hard drive, so it loads games slower than an SSD.
Who it's for
PC gamers and streamers who need room for installs, clips and backups get a large drive with recovery coverage. Anyone wanting fast load times from external storage should look at an external SSD.
Pros and cons
- Large storage capacity
- Single-cable bus power
- Rescue Data Recovery included
- RGB with Windows Dynamic Lighting
- Slower than an SSD
- Heavy for an external drive
- Listed transfer figures look inconsistent
Performance notes
Speed is set by a mechanical drive spinning at the listed rpm, with a modest read rate suited to storage and backups more than quick loading. A single USB-C cable carries both power and data. Rescue services cover data recovery if the drive fails.
