Overview
An overlander or ranch hand gets a compact vehicle radio that pushes far more power than a handheld and talks through repeaters. Two talk buttons, one on the radio and one on the mic, plus voice-activated transmit keep hands near the wheel.
Higher power and repeater access stretch range across rough country and convoy spreads. Range depends heavily on the antenna, and the listing does not confirm which accessories come in the box.
Who it's for
Off-road convoys, logistics teams and ranches coordinating vehicles over long distances. Hikers on foot need a handheld.
Pros and cons
- Strong transmit power
- Dual PTT for flexibility
- Compact for dash mounting
- Box contents only in title
- Not water resistant
- Dual-watch causes ticking noise
Performance notes
Real range swings with terrain and antenna height, which is why the maker quotes a wide span. Dual-watch scans between two channels and makes a ticking sound, which stops when the feature is turned off.
