Overview
Not an OLED and not a basic office screen, this ROG Strix is a Fast IPS gaming monitor that switches between UHD detail and a high refresh Full HD mode. A fully adjustable stand and USB-C input round it out.
Two modes in one screen let players choose detail for single player games or speed for esports. IPS contrast is lower than OLED, so dark games look less inky.
Who it's for
Mixed gaming and creative work at a desk suit this monitor. Cinema lovers in dark rooms may prefer an OLED panel.
Pros and cons
- Dual resolution and refresh modes
- Fully adjustable stand
- USB-C single cable option
- Motion blur reduction with VRR
- IPS contrast below OLED
- Only one HDMI port
- USB-C power delivery not stated
Performance notes
Fast IPS liquid crystals switch quickly enough for high refresh play while keeping wide viewing angles. ELMB SYNC strobes the backlight alongside variable refresh to sharpen motion. The Full HD mode trades sharpness for frame rate in fast shooters.
