Overview
A stiff composite handle meets a Dark Matter composite barrel through the Anomaly connection in this DeMarini Zen, which damps vibration while passing energy into the ball. A light end cap lowers swing weight for control.
Two piece composite construction gives a forgiving feel on mishits and a loud, lively barrel. Composite barrels often need care in cold weather, though the listing does not mention it.
Who it's for
Young hitters bothered by sting from alloy bats will appreciate the two piece feel. Players in other certifications need a different stamp.
Pros and cons
- Two piece reduces sting
- Large composite sweet spot
- Light end cap for control
- Loud barrel sound
- Barrel diameter not listed
- Composite needs care
- USA leagues only
Performance notes
Comfort comes from the two piece connection, which isolates the hands from barrel vibration. Performance depends on the composite barrel layup, which flexes on contact to add trampoline effect within USA standards.
