Foot Baths & Spas

Foot spas range from simple Basin tubs that hold warm water to massagers with rollers, bubbles, heat and vibration. Some products in this category are dry foot massager machines that knead the soles without water, which is a different experience and needs no filling or draining. The first decision is whether you want a water soak or a dry massage, because they solve different problems.

For water spas, check whether the unit heats the water or only keeps it warm for a while, and how deep the basin is, since larger feet and tall ankles need room. Bubble and vibration features are noisy on some models, and rollers can be fixed or motorised. A Collapsible basin saves storage space but is less stable when full. Among the 7 products that list item weight, most fall between 0.9 and 7.3 pounds, and 4.2 pounds is typical. Remember that a full basin weighs far more than the empty unit, so think about where you will fill and empty it.

Dry massagers use techniques such as Rolling, Shiatsu and Vibration, and many models add a warming function. Intensity varies a lot between models, so look for adjustable settings if you have sensitive or painful feet, and check whether the foot opening fits larger sizes or bulky socks. Removable, washable covers are worth having on any dry massager that several people will share.

Before buying, check the basin size or foot opening against your shoe size, how the unit drains, and whether the electrical parts are kept away from the water. Look at what accessories come in the box, such as pumice attachments or removable rollers. People with diabetes, poor circulation or numbness in the feet should check with a doctor before using heated foot spas.
