Overview
A writer wanting a portable typewriter with a small display gets a daisy wheel model with a built-in dictionary and a view mode for the typing line. Cassette daisy wheels and cassette ribbons swap in, and a carrying handle makes it portable.
Automatic carriage return, paper insertion and Word-Out and Line-Out correction handle the repetitive parts of typing, while bold and underline add emphasis. The display shows only a short line of text, so editing is limited.
Who it's for
A home user typing letters and forms will use the dictionary and correction features. People who want to edit long documents or connect to a computer should choose a word processor.
Pros and cons
- Cassette daisy wheel and ribbon
- Small display only
- Warranty not listed
- Accessories not itemized
Performance notes
A daisy wheel strikes through a cassette ribbon, and the correction memory and line-out system let the machine lift mistakes without retyping the whole line. The view mode and short display show the line being typed, and the dictionary flags unfamiliar spellings.
