Overview
A 24 count bucket of Rawlings youth practice baseballs for players 8 and under, packaged in a white bucket with an MLB logo and Rawlings patch instead of a mesh bag.
The listing notes the bucket may contain either OLB3 or R8U stamped balls interchangeably, which Rawlings states are materially the same product under different names. The bucket itself replaces a bag as the carry container, so a coach can scoop balls out quickly during drills.
- 24 baseballs per bucket
- Durable white bucket with MLB logo
- Cork and rubber center construction
- Built for ages 8 and under
Who it's for
Works for coaches and teams needing a larger stock of practice baseballs for players 8 and under, kept in one container rather than split across bags. Not a fit for anyone needing certified game balls or balls for older age groups.
Pros and cons
- 24 balls in one reusable bucket
- Cork and rubber center with synthetic leather cover
- Bucket can be repurposed for storage after use
- Not certified for official league play
- Limited to the 8U age range Rawlings targets
Performance notes
Like Rawlings' other OLB3 practice balls, these use a solid cork and rubber center under a synthetic leather cover, so they grip and fly similarly to a regulation ball without carrying the certification. The rigid bucket keeps two dozen balls contained and speeds up handing them out during drills.
