Overview
Sonor builds this Jungle snare drum on an ultra thin maple shell that is small but has an outstanding presence. The listing frames it as an accent snare rather than a main drum.
Thin shells and shallow depth are what give this drum its dry, impactful voice. The limitation is information: no head type, lug count, wire count or hoop material is stated, and the listed item dimensions do not describe a drum.
Who it's for
Players who want a compact side snare for short, dry hits will find the size easy to place. A drummer wanting a primary snare, or a buyer who must confirm lugs and heads from the listing alone, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Ultra thin maple shell
- Dry, impactful voice
- Natural wood finish
- Head and wire details missing
- Listed item dimensions unreliable
- Lug count unstated
- Not a main snare
Performance notes
A thin shell vibrates easily and a shallow depth shortens sustain, which produces a dry, cutting note rather than a long ring. The listing offers no head or tension information, so overall tone depends on how the drum is set up.
